Meet Martin Bastian
Braswell Family Spotlight
Ever wonder how many moving parts are in a feed mill? Family member Martin Bastian could answer that question. He works in our maintenance department and has been a part of our family at Braswell Family Farms for a year and a half.
Martin was born and raised in Nash County and truly enjoys working with everyone at the mill. He says he’s just a fun-loving guy (even if something breaks-down unexpectedly at the mill).
Prior to working at Braswell, Martin served in the Navy and we are so thankful for his service.
And in case you were wondering, Martin prefers his Braswell Family Farms eggs deviled and spicy – maybe all the sparks in his work life impacted his taste buds!
On May 18, Martin participated in the Victory Ride to Cure Cancer with Braswell Family Farms. We followed up about what the ride meant to him:
Q: Why did you decide to ride?
A: It's a good cause and I'm able to ride, so why not?
Q: Are you riding in memory or honor of anyone?
A: Everyone and anyone who has had cancer.
Q: Do you plan to ride next year? If so, what distance?
A: I will definitely be riding next year. The distance depends on my health at the time but hoping to ride 10 or 30 miles.
Q: What was your favorite part about riding?
A: Finishing!
