Meet David Holloman
Braswell Family Spotlight
Meet David Holloman, our Feed Mill and Operations Manager at Braswell Family Farms. David oversees the daily operations at our feed mill and the maintenance of the machinery that works to grind and produce our feed.
David’s day-to-day usually consists of getting an early start at 5:30 a.m. to ensure everyone at our mill has the materials they need to be able to grind, mix, and load feed to be sent to our hens and farms across the state. Another big part of David’s job helping the maintenance team with preventative maintenance check-ups to ensure the mill machinery runs smoothly.
One of David’s favorite parts about his job are the people he works with. One of those people being Stephen, who told him about the opening at Braswell 12 years ago while they were serving as volunteer firemen together. David also enjoys the challenges that come with position.
In his free time, you can find David on his boat with his wife of 33 years. If he’s not holding a fishing reel on his boat, he’s likely hunting with his two sons.
David’s favorite way to enjoy Braswell Family Farms eggs is in a sausage breakfast casserole. Yum!
On May 18, David participated in the Victory Ride to Cure Cancer with Braswell Family Farms. We followed up about what the ride meant to him:
Q: Why did you decide to ride?
A: It's a good cause
Q: Are you riding in memory or honor of anyone?
A: Many of my family members have had cancer, including both of my parents. I'm fortunate that they are both healthy now.
Q: Do you plan to ride next year? If so, what distance?
A: Yeah! I'm hoping to ride 30 miles but it depends if I get a new bike. Or I can just rent a motorized one!
Q: What was your favorite part about riding?
A: The downhill parts! And also the scenery around Raleigh and riding with my son and folks from Braswell.
